Context

In a little bit of context, I previously joined my friend (Bella Rosita & Della Clarissa) to do research and redesign apps that are quite famous lately which is Shopee.

Since this article is both the sequel and also the end of our whole case study, if you haven’t read the previous part of my friends’ article, you can go through that first from Link [Part 1 — Introduction, Research, Define]

My role

I took up this project as a UX designer and was responsible for everything about this case study, which includes competitive analysis, exploration for various wireframes, and usability testing the final designs.

Goal

As we can see in Link [Part 1 — Introduction, Research, Define] that the goal of this project is

How might we help users find the product they want more easily in Shopee App?

Wireframes

Low-Fidelity Wireframes can save a lot of time because we only need take focus on the workflow and layout first, so we can save a lot of time and effort on changes/revisions.

After the workflow and layout have been agreed upon, we can polish up by adding colors and icons in High-Fidelity.

Design Prototype

A prototype is an early sample, model, or release of a product created to test a concept or process.

This can use as a mechanism to get user feedback early and quickly on your design where you can iterate on making your product a better one.

Usability Testing

We tested the designs with 5 different users the details below:

Goal

To make sure that this new design can achieve our project’s goal

Scenarios
Buy the Innisfree Sheet Mask with ‘Green Tea’ variant by using a Free Shipping Voucher

Results & Takeaways

Here are the results of the usability testing, most of the steps from the users were in line with our expectations. There are some steps that unexpected by us are:

  1. Some users prefer directly browse the product list without a filter
  2. Some users prefer to add a product with more than 1 quantity/variant to the cart
